Come and join our thriving team as a Senior Payroll Officer, supporting payroll administration services for a range of clients. This is a full-time or part-time role (0.8 FTE) working from our Newstead office. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Position Purpose
As our Payroll Guru, you will support a range of clients by understanding and managing their unique payroll needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, is customer centric, data-driven, organised and can deliver timely and accurate payroll services. You are confident in your payroll knowledge and capabilities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their payroll processes and identify solutions to enhance their payroll practices.
- Manage and oversee payroll ensuring accurate and timely processing for all clients.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Support project managers with the implementation of HRIS solutions tailored to client requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows.
- Conduct system audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and recommend best practices for system usage.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and client retention.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience with payroll software (Xero and/or Key Pay/Employment Hero/ELMO Payroll) with a strong understanding of their features and functionalities.
- Excellent consulting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate client needs into effective solutions.
- Strong communication and training skills, with the ability to educate and support clients on system usage and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client needs simultaneously, with strong organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations with a commitment to staying abreast of changes and your own professional development.
Desirable:
- Experience with other HR or Payroll systems and software integration.
- Experience supporting payroll audits to ensure accurate and compliant payment practices.
