What is a Human Resources Health Check?

An HR health check is an audit tool used to systematically analyse and evaluate whether an organisation’s HR practices and documentation are legally compliant, efficient and effective. On one level, a health check can be compliance focused including the review of employment contracts, policies, procedures and practices against legislation such as awards, agreements and the Fair Work Act. This can help organisations mitigate risk and ensure they are meeting their obligations.

Additionally, a health check can dive deeper into workplace practices to help organisations to identify focus areas for their HR strategy to attract and retain talent, enhance employee engagement and productivity and align to a best practice approach to people management.
